School’s Clock Video

The British Art Show (BAS7) is coming to Plymouth for the first time in its history. So to help schools and students better understand and engage with this landmark contemporary arts event and exciting opportunity, they are invited to take part in a fun and creative project. The final work will be screened to a large audience whilst BAS7 is in Plymouth.

Christian Marclay – The Clock

The aim of the project will be to produce a collective work inspired by The Clock, winner of the Golden Lion at this years Venice Biennale. The piece is a 24-hour video work showing as part of BAS7, representative of a fully working 24-hour clock that remains in synchronisation with the real time for its entirety. The film itself is sewn together using fragments from cinema, past and present, and always depicts either the expression of time or characters interacting with timepieces.

Up to 24 schools, colleges and universities from across the region are invited to contribute their own portion of the clock.
